A Seat at The Table

"If you don't have A Seat at The Table you're probably on the menu." —Elizabeth Warren

On November 6th, The Gem Collective’s second installment, “A Seat at the Table“ came to Lil Havana.

Who attended? 40 of South Florida’s active and aspiring female world-changers, entrepreneurs, and creatives from varying backgrounds, with limitless passions, assembled confirming their Seat, at The Table!

This “Intimate Gathering of Gems", shared a place to unwind, network, and connect. The ethereal and eclectic patio of Doce Provisions, a Lil Havana gem, was our meeting place. DJ Spinelli’s curation of soulful, eclectic sounds set the vibes for an evening of great food, fun, and empowerment, not to mention the handcrafted cocktails.

Guest tickets included: Shared appetizers, a menu entrée and bottomless cocktails. Our super sponsors provided complimentary add-ons like: a professional headshot, and many other great surprises.

“A Seat at The Table” was not your average networking brunch or your average women’s empowerment affair; it was an opportunity for young, like-minded women to openly share their knowledge while building friendships. In spite of differing backgrounds, we shared a common goal: To pursue passions and use talents to create opportunities for ourselves and those around us.

After a meaningful three hours of great conversations, fun games, and lots of laughter, each attendee, around the table, shared, with the group, who they were and what they would like to accomplish. Some even felt comfortable enough to express their fears and doubts, revealing vulnerabilities that allowed connection in ways that were meaningful and special. A strong support network was formed. Woman left feeling empowered, revitalized, and supported: Goal accomplished!

Once again, I want to thank all the women for being a part of The Gem Collective's second brunch. I'm so excited to share future experiences with all of you, as well as with many others.

It is my hope that this movement will evolve and grow as we continue to gather and empower each other, to foster the resulting relationships, and to build on the emerging themes of faith, empowerment, fun, and community, themes that can continue throughout life.

As a result of overwhelming feedback, the next installment of A Seat at The Table is on the way. Save the date: January 22nd 2017! (our first coed experience).

A very special collective of visionaries helped to make this event as special as it was! Thank you to all for assisting in making this a reality!
